The History of St. Michael’s School for Girls
St. Michael’s School for Girls is an English-medium, C.I.S.C.E.-affiliated school located on the edge of the verdant Mahananda Forest in Siliguri, West Bengal. It is a residential and day-boarding school committed to empowering students to become thoughtful, future-ready leaders.
Founded in 2014 by renowned educationists and philanthropists, Mr S. M. Chakravarti and Mrs Jennifer Chakravarty, the school’s founders trace their educational journey to the establishment of a residential school in Kurseong, Darjeeling in 1973. This was followed by the establishment of St. Michael’s School, a co-educational day-boarding and residential school in Siliguri, in 1999.
With a vision rooted in nation-building and global excellence, St. Michael’s School for Girls strives to foster progressive, inquiry-led learning experiences by integrating the latest educational practices with time-tested wisdom and modern global approaches to education.
